Elizabeth Balfour (b. 1992) is a soprano from Oslo, Norway. 

 

Elizabeth is currently pursuing a master degree in opera at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts with renowned soprano Ann-Helen Moen. 

​

Prior to this, Elizabeth studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Music, with Mona Julsrud, Randi Stene and Bo Skovhus.  

​

Elizabeth has also studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Welsh soprano Eiddwen Harrhy. 

​

Recent performances include Adele in Die Fledermaus directed by Jacopo Spirei and conducted by Gregor Bühl at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, Adina in L'elisir d'Amore, and Despina in Cosi fan Tutte. 

​

In winter 2019 Elizabeth performed the role of Morgana in Alcina with director Jacopo Spirei and conductor Fiona McSherry at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. 

​

In autumn 2019 Elizabeth performed Händel excerpts at the Drottningsholm Palace Theatre in Stockholm with conductor David Stern. 

​

Upcoming performances include the role of Susanna in Mozarts' Le Nozze di Figaro in Weimar, at the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. 

​

Elizabeth sang in the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet children's choir for 10 years. Performances at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet include Erste Knabe in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Juliette in Britten's Let's make an Opera, Aninka in Krása's Brundibar, and Ping in Kverndokk's The World Around in 80 days.
